Effect of holding time on Pr6O11 etching diamond single crystal

摘要: 为研究保温时间对Pr6O11刻蚀金刚石单晶的影响,在900 ℃和N2中将Pr6O11与金刚石混合物在不同保温时间下加热,以刻蚀金刚石单晶,通过刻蚀后金刚石单晶的表面形貌、刻蚀深度、单颗粒抗压强度表征刻蚀效果。结果表明:Pr6O11能促进金刚石表面的刻蚀,其刻蚀程度和最大刻蚀深度随保温时间延长而加深。当保温时间为120 min时,金刚石{111}面和{100}面的刻蚀坑分别为阶梯状倒金字塔形和蜂窝状,最大刻蚀深度分别为15.07 μm和4.27 μm。金刚石的单颗粒抗压强度随保温时间延长而不断下降,但Pr6O11刻蚀后金刚石的单颗粒抗压强度高于不加刻蚀剂刻蚀和在空气中直接刻蚀后的单颗粒抗压强度。Abstract: To study the effect of holding time on the etching of diamond single crystal by Pr6O11, the mixture of Pr6O11 and diamond was heated at different holding time in 900 ℃ and N2 atmosphere to etch the diamond single crystal. The etching effect was characterized by the surface morphology, the etching depth and the single particle compressive strength of the diamond single crystal after etching. The results show that Pr6O11 can promote the etching of the diamond surface, and the etching degree and the maximum etching depth increase with the increase of holding time. When the holding time is 120 min, the etching pits on the {111} surface and {100} surface of the diamond are stepped inverted pyramid and honeycomb respectively, and the maximum etching depth is 15.07 μm and 4.27 μm. The compressive strength of single diamond particle also decreases with the prolongation of holding time, but the compressive strength of single diamond particle etched by Pr6O11 is higher than that of diamond etched without adding etchant and directly etched in air.
